Play areas re-opening 4th July 2020

In line with government guidance all 6 play areas in the village including the skate park and outdoor gym equipment will re-open on 4th July. The following guidance is in place:

  • 1 adult only to accompany a child/children
  • If the playground is busy, consider coming back at a later time. Talk to your children about this possibility before visiting

Leicestershire County Council’s SHIRE Environment Grant

Grants of up to £3,000 for projects which :

  • reduce the amount of household waste produced in Leicestershire
  • reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions within communities
  • improve biodiversity and support the creation, protection, enhancement and management of sustainable green spaces
  • raise awareness and understanding on the above

ESFA Community Grants Scheme

Grants of between £5,000 and £20,000 are available for projects which help people take steps towards a future career, reduce unemployment and tackle economic inactivity.

Deadline for applications is 15th July 2020.

Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order at the above location.

A road closure is required on High Street between Leicester Road and Queens Street from the 29th June 2020 for up to two weeks. The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for Severn Trent Water to facilitate urgent sewer repairs.

A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) is to be made for the following location: Snarestone Road, Appleby Magna (see weblink).

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Western Power to safely facilitate a new connection.

The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure. The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of five days commencing on the 17th August 2020.

Tablet Loan Scheme Funded

Enrych has teamed up with Hospice Hope in order to reach more people with disabilities.

They are collaborating together on a pilot scheme that will offer free loaned equipment and free training to people with disabilities who want to borrow tablets to keep connected with friends and family.
