Wigeon Drive SUDS Visit

Please join Trent Rivers Trust on the 15th May for a tour of the SUDS scheme currently being built at Wigeon Drive, Measham.

The project is designed to provide an attractive feature which captures and cleans road runoff before the water finally enters the River Mease.

As you may have heard Ashby Canal Association has recently been awarded a £10,000 grant to explore the remaining industrial archaeology at the Ilott Wharf site in Measham. In parallel we will be doing a social history study to find those people who have memories of Ilott Wharf in its heyday, which was at least 50 years ago.

The M1 will be closing in both directions from 22:00 hours, Friday 11th May and will remain closed until 15:00 hours, Sunday 13th May.

The closure will be in place whilst a new bridge is lifted over the M1 between J23a and J24.

The alternative diversion will be signed along the A453 from the M1 and A42 (J23a) to the M1 (J24).
